A small habitat outreach in Owego, NY. My roommate from college is now a big-time member there and asked for a little help for a new site. We're now working together to create what's probably the second-most updatable and functional HfH website -- or at least that's the plan.

Engineers Without Borders, Michigan Tech Chapter

My most recent solo project, I've been working on creating a custom content management system (CMS) for the Michigan Tech chapter of Engineers Without Borders. This site will allow for simple content updating, blogging, photo album creation, and user-management. I've had to search the open-source community for applications to use to make this site more user-friendly to those that have no knowledge of HTML. Mostly, I've looked for WYSIWYG editors, but also a bit of code snippets as well. Don't forget to check out the administration site as well.

Civil and Environmental Engineer at Michigan Tech

During the 2003-2004 school year, the Michigan Technological University Chapter of the Society for Technical Communications took on a web redesign project in order send a group of thirteen to the STC national conference in Baltimore, MD.

I was asked to join this project as the main web programmer. It was my first website that I used php with. I was surprised at how much more I could do on the web with learning a "simple" new programing language which seemed to be a lot like C++.

Michigan Tech Men's Soccer Club

I was elected Webmaster/Secretary in Spring 2005 for the Michigan Tech Men's Soccer Club. I decided to update the site and give it a face lift as well as a more consitant navigation scheme. This is a CMS site built from scratch for a specific purpose. When fully completed, the backend will do everything - users will be able to upload files, edit scores and standings for the indoor tournament and fix scheduling errors, to name a few.

Dane County Humane Society

This is a joint project with a few other people. I'm working remotely and the other's are based in Madison, WI where the humane society is.

STC/Arts Enterprise at Michigan Tech

Another Michigan Tech Enterprise project, but this time it's our own website. I've kept a few of the iterations and problems we've ran into in getting a GUI for this site, and I'll continue to explain some of them. However, for my part, I took a mockup, put it on the web, and will be creating the CMS for the parts that Movable Type doesn't support.

Aerospace Enterprise at Michigan Tech

This was my first freelance job. An email came across our departmental list and i jumped on it. The Enterprise Program at Michigan Tech is an interesting one. It "gives teams of students the opportunity to participate in real-world settings to solve engineering, design, and communication problems in partnership with industry sponsors". Specifically, the Aerospace Enterprise works with companies, such as NASA, to provide "a hands-on educational experience to Michigan Tech undergraduate students within the aerospace field". Following is my role in the redesign process.
